It's still the league's lowest scoring division and only two teams have managed to finish above .500 in the last two years, but if only for a week, the NFC East put a beatdown on the rest of the YFFL.
In a week where eight teams scored 50+ points, the NFC East accounted for four of them as they tallied a combined 228 points and finished a perfect 4-0 against their AFC counterparts.
Leading the way were the Mallards, who welcomed QB Jameis Winston back into the lineup for the first time since 2019 and defeated the Thugs by a healthy margin of 62-22. The White Guys also flexed their muscles behind the backfield duo of James Cook and Rhamondre Stevenson, who combined for 4 touchdowns and 32 points. Along with MVP candidate Lamar Jackson, the White Guys remained on top of the division and delivered the Buddies their fifth loss of the season.
With the defending division champion Dragons lying in wait at 4-4 and the surprising Boys nipping at everyone's heels despite a 33 point average through the first eight weeks, the NFC East looks like it will be a dog fight to the end unlike last year when the Dragons ran away and hid, finishing with a 6-game advantage over the next closest team.
Elsewhere around the league, the NFC West also put on a show as the Brothers extended their 6-game winning streak by defeating the Orangutangs in a Super Bowl rematch and the Chickens handed the Refugees their 3rd loss of the season thanks to 4 TDs from QB Jalen Hurts. In fact, the Merry Men were the only AFC team to claim victory in Week 8 as they mounted a Sunday night comeback to sink the Huskers and stake claim to the bye with 6 weeks left to go.
