Back From the Dead

Jon Kinsman, YFFL Commissioner

Michael Myers. Jason. Freddy. The Chickens? Like any good horror movie, the villains of the YFFL have once again risen from the dead to strike down those powerless to stop them. It's only fitting that today is Halloween.

The Chickens were reeling from 4 straight losses and the Mallards were ready to put a stake through their heart in Week 7, but thanks to some late heroics (from TE George Kittle no less), the Chickens survived that game and then went on to stomp all over the Thugs in Week 8 to take control of the NFC Wild Card. However, four other teams are sitting at 3-4 wins and ready to put an end to the terror once and for all. That group is led by the Mallards, who rebounded from their slim 1-point loss to the Chickens last week to post 54 points in a victory over the Llamas in Week 8.

Meanwhile, the Oranutangs moved into possession of the AFC Wild Card with their best performance of the season thanks to 4 TDs from QB Dak Prescott, but close on their heels are the Eaters, who have struggled since opening the season at 3-0 and the defending champions Bear Poop, who are looking to recapture that magic of last season when they lost only 1 game after Week 7.

While the division races have stagnated (for now) the Wild Card chase shows no signs of slowing down.

Elsewhere around the league, the Buddies handed the Dragons their first loss of the season and the Brothers outlasted the Refugees thanks to Monday night heroics from QB Jared Goff and TE Sam LaPorta in a return engagement of division leaders after last week's titanic showdowns.
