Not Dead Yet

Jon Kinsman, YFFL Commissioner

With just 4 games left to play, the Chickens were coming off back-to-back losses, staring at a 4-5-1 record and in danger of missing the playoffs for just the fourth time in the last 15 years.

If the YFFL's most winning team has taught us anything, it's to never count them out.

After reeling off four straight victories, including a 105-39 pounding of the Thugs this week, the Chickens captured the NFC Wild Card and have their sights on a fourth YFFL Championship.

Almost everyone got in on the action in Week 14 as five different players scored in double digits. Leading the way was QB Aaron Rodgers, who has now posted 20+ points in three consecutive games. However, with lingering injury concerns, will he be able to stay in the lineup? We'll find out as the Chickens travel to take on the Huskers in the opening round of the playoffs.

Elsewhere around the league, the aforementioned Huskers hung on to the NFC West crown with a win over the Orangutangs thanks to a late surge from RB Aaron Jones and K Matt Gay. The preseason favorites closed out the season with back-to-back victories after losing four straight and will be looking to return to the Super Bowl for the first time in nearly 20 years.

Meanwhile, the surging Refugees were able to overtake the Buddies for the AFC Wild Card on points, a thought that would have been mind-boggling after the Buddies' record start to the season. The Refugees will take on Bear Poop in the opening round of the playoffs and will be seeking to continue owner Anthony Aceto's recent Super Bowl success.

With that, another regular season is in the books and the road to Super Bowl XXIX begins in earnest. Which of the remaining six teams will bring home a much sought after championship?
