Are You In or Out?

Jon Kinsman, YFFL Commissioner

October 29, 2019

When Merry Men owner Steve Dugas offered up half of his team as available for trade after a 37-30 loss in Week 3 that dropped them to 1-2, it looked like they were already packing it in for 2019 and looking ahead to the future.

After dealing Aaron Jones and John Brown, it was all but confirmed.

That sentiment continued after a Week 6 loss that dropped them to 2-4 when Dugas advertised Tevin Coleman's availability on the YFFL Forum.

Fast forward 2 weeks - the Merry Men now sit at .500 after back-to-back wins, including Week 8's franchise record 93 point outburst led by 4 TDs from Coleman. Could the Merry Men now have a shot at the playoffs?

As we enter Week 9 and are just weeks away from the trade deadline, the Merry Men are one of several YFFL teams facing a tough decision: are they buyers or sellers as we head towards the late stages of the 2019 season?

With just 2 games separating the race for the NFC Wild Card and some big question marks among the AFC contenders, the YFFL remains wide open with just 5 weeks to play.

Elsewhere around the league, the Mallards appear to be the team to beat as they dropped an easy 77 points on the Beans to open up a 3 game lead in the NFC East, the Buddies and Thugs both lost to open up the AFC playoff race a bit, and the struggles for the Huskers continued as they dropped their third straight game and ceded the top of the NFC West to the Chickens.
