NFL suspended Chiefs WR Dwayne Bowe four games for violating the league's policy on performance enhancing substances.
The suspension begins immediately and will keep Bowe out until Week 15. Bowe reported to spring workouts 30 pounds overweight, and ESPN's Adam Schefter "gathers" that Bowe took a diuretic to shed the extra pounds. He spent much of the early season in coach Todd Haley's doghouse, and the suspension may alter the team's long-term plans for him. With Bowe returning in time for many fantasy playoff games, he's worth keeping on rosters. Nov. 17 - 1:45 pm et
Ouch. If I get the bye than I should be OK.
Housh, Collie, Witten and Bradshaw will be asked to player a larger role in the offense until Bowe returns for the AFC Championship game.
Tough news for the Bear as well:
The "current thinking" is that Ronnie Brown (foot) will miss the rest of the season, a league source tells Profootballtalk.com.
The report admits that this prognosis could change based on the advice of the specialist and how Brown's rehab goes, so this is far from a sure thing. If Brown is lost for the season, Ricky Williams would become into an elite fantasy player worthy of an every week start over the final seven games of the season. Brown is the currently the No. 9 fantasy running back in standard scoring leagues.
