Fact or Fiction: Week 4

Bobby & Kevin Sansone, Senior Argumentative Analysts

September 30, 2004

1. Fact or Fiction, the Chickens will go undefeated this year.

Bobby: Fiction. They'll probably lose two maybe even three games. There's just too many intangilbles in the YFFL today to go undefeated. While the Huskers won 13 in a row two years ago and the Thugs are in the midst of an 11-game winning streak, it's just too hard to go undefeated for a season. While the Chickens are clearly talented enough to run the table, they will be hurt on bye weeks because of a lack of depth at WR.

Kevin: Fiction. The Chickens are clearly the best team in the league and should win the Super Bowl barring some catastrophic event. But, in order to win every game here on out they need McNabb and Owens to put up big numbers every week. I just can't see this happening. Their first big test will be in Week 5 when this pair is on a bye week. I have trouble seeing this team going undefeated, but I don't have trouble seeing this team as one of the greatest in the history of the YFFL.

2. Fact or Fiction, Thomas Jones has been the biggest surprise so far this season.

Bobby: Fiction. I knew Thomas Jones was this good last season and that's why I tried to trade for him in the offseason. Chris Davidson, who hasn't been part of trade since 1984, naturally didn't respond to my offer. The biggest surprise this season is undoubtedly Curtis Martin. Going into this season, Martin had less trade value than $40 at an Indian Trading Post.

Kevin: Fiction. Until he has a bad game, Curtis Martin has been the biggest surprise of the YFFL this year. If someone had told me that Curtis Martin would lead all rushers after Week 2 I would've laughed at them. Thomas Jones is less of a surprise, and more of an "it's about time" guy.

3. Fact or Fiction, the 2004 YFFL Draft will have the most busts ever.

Bobby: Fiction. The only busts to come out of the first round of this year's draft will be Kellen Winslow, Jr., Greg Jones and Josh McCown. McCown, still looking for his first TD pass (including the preseason), naturally found a home on the worst team in the league. Winslow Jr, along with just about every other TE in the league appears already to be a bust. The only question that remains is, will he be as disappointing as Jeremy Shockey?

Kevin: Fact. Thanks to expansion, there are more and more players being drafted every year. Just about every skill player is drafted, and only a small percentage of those actually are worthy of being drafted. Expect the amount of draft busts to increase in 2005, 2006, etc. I'm actually beginning to wonder if the draft should be trimmed to three rounds, or if rosters should be cut even more...

4. Fact or Fiction, Ken Dorsey is the worst quarterback to start 2 YFFL games.

Bobby: Fact. Dorsey is a horrible fantasy player and frankly, I find it hard to believe that he is even a backup QB in the NFL. I mean, how does this happen? Where are the Jeff Blake's and Kelly Holcomb's of the league. Dorsey is the next Glen Foley and won't be employed in the YFFL or NFL for much longer.

Kevin: Fiction. I'm sure Ryan Leaf made at least two starts in his YFFL career.

5. Fact or Fiction, Aceto really does love Harris' junk in his face.

Bobby: Fact. Is it also a fact that the fifth question in every "Fact or Fiction" has to involve Aceto?

Kevin: I don't even know how to respond to this.
