...And Then There Was One

What a difference a year makes.

This time last season, the Thugs were 0-4 and wondering whether to pack it in for the year. This season, they just knocked off the Super Bowl favorite Buddies to move to 4-0 and take command of the AFC West.

In a year marked by unlikely heroes for the Thugs, this week it was Jacoby Brissett, who tossed three touchdowns to keep the Thugs undefeated and outlast the Buddies, who suffered their first Patrick Mahomes performance without a touchdown in his young career.

Brissett continues to turn heads around the league in relief of Andrew Luck, who announced his surprise retirement shortly before the start of the season. With 18 points, Brissett now has 52 points thru 3 starts and has the Thugs poised to contend for their first playoff appearance since 2014.

Elsewhere around the league, the other unbeaten teams all lost, as Bear Poop's Patriots combined for just 4 points in a 42-30 loss to the Llamas and the Huskers fell to the Chickens in a battle for early control of the NFC West. Plus, a NFC East thriller between the Mallards and White Guys ended in a 50-50 tie as Mallards kicker Will Lutz kicked four field goals on Sunday night. Both teams now sit at 2-1-1 on top of the division.
