Knock on Wood If You're Traded

Jon Kinsman, YFFL Commissioner

An explosion of early season trade activity continued on Wednesday as the Llamas sent Derek Carr to the Eaters in exchange for Emmanuel Sanders and Joe Flacco.

For the Llamas, the deal brings some veteran stability to a roster that is looking to contend for a title with the return of Le'Veon Bell and emergence of Saquon Barkley.

While healthy, Sanders has quietly been one of the more consistent WRs in the YFFL, posting 40+ points in 4 of the last 5 seasons.

The trade comes less than a year after Flacco was acquired by the Eaters in exchange for a 1st Round draft pick that resulted in Damien Williams. Flacco managed just a single start for the Eaters during that time, posting 6 points. He will now serve as a backup to Deshaun Watson.

For the Eaters, Carr gives some added upside to the QB position, an area that GM Kurt Willette had expressed interest in upgrading during the offseason.

Carr has shown flashes of brilliance in his YFFL career, but has never managed to make "the leap" to stardom. He will vie with established veteran Philip Rivers for QB duties going forward.
