White People Problems

After finishing the 2018 season as the first undefeated team in league history, the 2019 White Guys are already a game down in the loss column after just one week.

In a rematch of Super Bowl XXVI, the Buddies handed the White Guys their first loss since Thanksgiving of 2017 (a run of 19 consecutive games) behind a career high 18 points from Derrick Henry and double-digit scoring from 4 other players in a 73-61 shootout.

Despite the loss, Lamar Jackson may have answered the White Guys' question marks at QB. He garnered Player of the Week honors with a 5 TD performance in his first career start. However, it wasn't enough to hold off the Super Bowl favorite Buddies, who are off to a great start in a season that is full of expectations.

Elsewhere around the league, the Buddies weren't the only team to cross the 70-point mark. The Mallards lived up to the preseason hype with a 74-57 victory over the Eaters (and acquired Antonio Brown before the game was over) and the Thugs pounded the Boys (Chris Davidson's other team) 72-30 led by Sammy Watkins and Dalvin Cook, who scored a combined 5 TDs.

It was all part of a high scoring opening week as the YFFL's 27th season kicked off with plenty of fireworks, close games and surprises.
