Clash of the Champions

Jon Kinsman, YFFL Commissioner

December 19, 2018

Two of the YFFL's most dynamic players will square off in Super Bowl XXVI as Patrick Mahomes and the Buddies will attempt to dethrone Todd Gurley and the defending champion White Guys, who are looking to complete the league's first undefeated season.

The Buddies continued their late season surge with their 7th win out of the last 8 contests thanks to Mahomes, who tossed 2 touchdowns early in the week, and Joe Mixon, who delivered the hammer with another 2 scores on Sunday afternoon to down the Refugees. With a suddenly crowded stable of RBs, it will be interesting to see if owner Mike Kinsman is able to make way for Derrick Henry, who sat out the Conference Championship game, but had his second consecutive big game and could play a large part in Super Bowl XXVI.

As for the White Guys, they continued their late season stumbles but found a way to win thanks to an anemic performance from an injury-riddled Chickens teams. Leading the way once again was Gurley, who picked up where he left off last season in the playoffs. The star running back now has at least 2 TDs in each of the four playoff games he's competed in and will have to be the bell cow once again next week if the White Guys want to complete a season for the ages and repeat as champs.

It's Mahomes versus Gurley...the upstarts versus the champs...and history on the line. Super Bowl XXVI is here!
