Postcards from Camp

Summary

The Beans 2013 season was dead on arrival as they limped their way to 3 wins and appeared in the Stupor Bowl for the 2nd time in 3 years. RGIII was not the same player he was in 2012 as he rushed back from a torn ACL too soon. RGIII's ineffectiveness along with an injury to Julio Jones proved too much and the Beans simply never recovered. 2013 did yield a couple bright spots as Alshon Jeffery busted out in a big way and Desean Jackson proved a solid contributor once again.

Critical Question

Should the Beans draft a RB or WR with the second pick in the draft? The Beans are in a tough spot as there are several WRs rated above the highest rated RB prospect. The Beans have plenty of talent at WR, but the cupboards are just about bare when looking at their RBs.

Player to Watch

Robert Griffin III, QB (WAS) - The Beans need Griffin to bounce back in a big way or they will once again find themselves drafting in the top 2. If that happens, look for Bob to begin searching for a new QB.

Lineup

RGIII, Bernard Pierce, Alshon Jeffery, Julio Jones, Desean Jackson, Martellus Bennett, Kicker, Draft Pick

Outlook

While the Beans should be much improved in 2014, they will have trouble moving up in their division. The NFC West is easily the toughest in the league at the moment. My guess is RGIII takes too many hits early and ends up missing some time and ruining the Beans season in the process. While they improve by a few wins, the Beans stay mired in the basement.

Projections

6-7; 577 Points; 4th Place NFC West
