BRUNSWICK, ME – The White Guys opened camp this week with all the makings of a .500 ball club. The only problem is that it’s a 13-game schedule meaning the White Guys can’t finish at .500. Owner Anthony Aceto enters his 10th year in the league still searching for the elusive YFL Championship. He has re-built the team around a solid running and passing attack despite some minor setbacks like DeShaun Foster missing his entire rookie season last year. The White Guys traded away their only first round pick this season for the rights to Fred Taylor. Taylor instantly becomes the teams best RB and Aceto expects him to be a leader on and off the field.
Biggest Question Facing Owner Anthony Aceto
Who will emerge from this roster full of B-rate WRs? With the QB and RB starting spots all but filled, Aceto can turn his attention to a suspect group of WRs. But when your WRs are led by Keyshawn Johnson, the greatest underachiever of all-time, you know the rebuilding process is far from over. James Thrash, Ed McCaffrey and Mushin Muhammed will battle surprise 2nd year WR Andre Davis for playing time.
Rising Star
Aaron Brooks. Brooks is surrounded by weapons in New Orleans which should translate into a great fantasy year for the young QB. Tommy Maddox has said over and over that “[he’s] not here to compete for the starting job.” Thus, Brooks can concentrate on his job without constantly looking over his shoulder. Don’t be surprised if Brooks winds up the MVP of the YFL this year.

Final Observations
The White Guys need Keyshawn Johnson to put up the fantasy numbers he’s capable of. If this happens and Curtis Martin and Fred Taylor stay healthy, the White Guys will surprise a lot of teams. Duce Staley must end his hold out and DeShaun Foster must prove he is fully recovered from his knee injury to solidify the White Guys running game. Maddox and many of the veteran WRs are expendable and could be packages in a blockbuster draft day trade. Look for the White Guys to finish around .500.
