NFL.com's Jason La Canfora seconds a Profootballtalk.com report that the Lions are "bracing" for Matthew Stafford (shoulder) to miss up to six weeks.
La Canfora reports that the team fears Stafford will be out "at least" 4-6 weeks. Pending the results of Monday's MRI and X-rays, he could be sidelined even longer. Owners can try to hang onto Stafford on the end of their benches, but shouldn't count on him playing before mid-to-late October.
The Merry Men have sent a private plane to Minnesota with Kicker Robbie Gould, RB Tashard Choice, and WR Jordy Nelson all on the flight in an attempt to convince Brett Favre to return after Favre vacated the team after learning he would not be getting the week 1 start. The Merry Men need Favre more than ever with Stafford likely to miss most of the YFFL regular season.
I hear Favre and Jordy Nelson are very close...
Hard not to be a good buddy with a guy named Jordy. I just wish he'd change the spelling of his name to Geordi, as in Geordi LaForge from Star Trek the Next Generation. That visor thing he wore, the ladies must have dug it! Geordi LaForge, played by Reading Rainbow's own LeVar Burton!
